MACC REMANDS DATO’ AMHARI BUT HAS YET TO CALL ON ZETI.

TTF: A report by The Edge Markets yesterday (see news item below) revealed that a former special officer to Dato’ Seri Najib Tun Razak had been detained “on remand by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC). According to daily, the detention had to do with a probe the anti-graft agency was conducting into 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB),” Malaysia’s wealth fund. What the The Edge Markets failed to mention, however, was the name of the officer involved and the exact relationship he (or she) had with the wealth fund.

Well, as it turns out, the said officer is none other than Dato’ Amhari Nazaruddin, a man who served as Najib’s special officer in media related affairs. Amhari must have been remanded by the MACC pursuant to Section 49 of the MACC Act. Under this section, the agency must have reasonable grounds to believe that a person committed one or more offences under the Act to justify its wanting to detain him (or her).

According to The Edge Markets, the Dato’ (Amhari) was remanded to facilitate a probe under Section 17(a) of the MACC Act. The said section pertains the offence of having received or been given gratification by agent. Under the circumstances, we can safely assume that the MACC  felt Amhari benefited illegally from 1MDB.

But here’s the thing – what has media affairs got to do with the wealth fund?

And let’s not forget, this is the same MACC that has yet to call on Tan Sri Zeti Akhtar Aziz for her role in the RM2.6 billion affair (READ HERE AND HERE AND HERE). And this is the very same MACC that is currently being led by Dato’ Seri Mohd Shukri Abdull, a man seemingly determined to destroy Najib (watch video below). So why has Shukri not detained the former premier yet?

Zeti may have conspired with Dato’ Seri Mohd Shukri Abdull to imply that Najib stole RM2.6 billion from 1MDB

See how they’re toying with Najib?

PUTRAJAYA: A former special officer of former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak is being held on remand by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for seven days from today to assist in its investigation into a case related to 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB).

The MAAC secured the order for the remand of the 42-year-old “Datuk” until July 1 from Magistrate Shah Wira Abdul Halim at the Putrajaya Magistrate’s Court here to facilitate its probe under Section 17(a) of the MACC Act 2009.

The man was brought to the court at 9.15 am, handcuffed and clad in the MACC orange lockup attire.

He had been asked to give a statement at the MACC headquarters yesterday and was arrested at 9.45 pm.
He had served with a government-linked company prior to being appointed as a special officer to Najib in 2009. He resigned from the post on June 5.

Am of the strong view selective rule of law being practised by the ruling party, AG & MACC. Such will further cause FDI and fund managers to shy away from our equity and bond mkts. Additionally, the Fin Min ie LGE seems to be very hard head stance (tantamount to dungu) with respect to media release or statement from MOF in Mandarin despite backlash from many scholars and respected individuals. Is LGE plan to embark on Little Napoleon within PH Govt....his accomplices from DAP namely YB Anthony Loke, YB Gobind Deo & YB Kula are doing well and fine...more imporyantly able to blend into this PH coalition aspirations..
With due respect to TDM....plz remove this LGE from current portfolio as it seems he causes more harm and damage to the govt efforts to restore investors confidence, putting back economy on the right track, building up.ppl trust.....very cleary this LGE passed the bucks to TDM once he gets cornered or unable to give answer to questions posed by reporters.....A pathetic & selfish type of person this LGE.

This is part of Najib character assassination process by these pakatan maniacs. Similar tactic they used previously against Anwar Ibrahim.
